*Snap* Live Stake Planting Workshop, March 22nd

The Totier Creek Watershed Association is hosting a live stake planting workshop on a private farm along Miller Creek, a tributary to the Totier Creek, this Sunday, March 22nd, from 1-3 pm.

Last month several of our members attended the live stake planting workshop held at Morven, hosted by Upper and Middle James River Consortium. Together with other volunteers we planted over 1000 live stakes in about half an hour. Talk about a big bang for our buck!

Inspired by that event, the Totier Creek Watershed Association is hosting a live stake planting workshop on a private farm along Miller Creek, a tributary to the Totier Creek, this Sunday, March 22nd, from 1-3 pm. We have 500 live stakes – including black willow, elderberry, buttonbush, and alder – courtesy of the Department of Forestry. Nicola McGoff of Wild Ginger Field Services has kindly offered to facilitate the event, as she did at Morven.

Come learn how easy and rewarding it is to plant live stakes – truly anyone can do it! – and help restore the watershed one stake at a time!
